A Robot-Built Home?! SPACE FACTORY : Automation of window assembly for modular houses! π οΈπ
Process Overview This deployment is the first domestic solution that automates modular housing window-frame assembly by combining KUKA industrial robots, a custom-designed robot gripper, and High Payload Track Motion. SPACE FACTORY introduced this window-frame assembly automation system to reduce construction costs and to produce modular housing with consistent quality. Project Background and Objectives In the existing operation, skilled technicians assembled sash frames manually, which required long working time, and significant manpower was needed to respond to diverse customer requirements. In addition, due to the wide work environment and the complex robot operating environment, real-time monitoring was difficult, creating limitations in process management. The objective of this project is to dramatically reduce working time by automating the window-frame assembly process, build a standardized production system to ensure consistent quality, and maximize process management efficiency through a real-time production monitoring system.
Automating Automotive Battery Palletizing: Safely Stack Batteries Weighing Over 60kg with the Yaskawa GP225 πͺ
This solution is an example of automating the repalletizing process for the export of Atlas batteries produced by Korea & Company.
Why Automatic Solar Panel Installation Was Entrusted to Mobile Robotic Arms (Mobile Manipulators) (Luminous Robotics)
This solution, applied to a large-scale solar power plant Construction site in Australia, is a mobile manipulator-based installation automation system centered around 'LUMI,' an autonomous mobile robot developed by Luminous Robotics. The site presented a challenging environment for human workers, characterized by high temperatures, strong winds, and rough terrain; furthermore, there was a growing demand for Construction automation due to labor shortages and rising labor costs. LUMI is a mobile robotic arm designed to install heavy solar panels quickly and accurately, featuring an integrated structure that combines autonomous driving capabilities, a robotic arm, and high-precision sensors. Notably, it is designed to integrate seamlessly with existing human-centered installation methods, enabling a transition to on-site automation without requiring any infrastructure modifications.
